Construction Schedule
More than 200 homes have been completed in the new Buffalo Soldier Acres neighborhood which will house 432 new homes for Senior Non Commissioned Officers, Command Sergeants Major, Company Grade Officers and Field Grade Officers. During the summer of 2011, vertical construction begun, and the first homes were completed in January 2012.
In addition to the work on Buffalo Soldier Acres, Corvias has already completed an exterior painting project on 16 homes in Southern Plains. Work also began to renovate the interiors of 25 homes in that neighborhood. During the renovation of non-historic residences, homes received kitchen and laundry upgrades, new flooring and paint, new lighting and plumbing fixtures, and the addition of a safe room. Historic renovations began in 2011 - with nearly 150 historic and non-historic homes receiving renovations in 2012.
In 2011, work started on the first of three Community Centers. The Southern Plains Community Center will be built near the current Corvias Military Living Southern Plains Neighborhood Office. The state-of-the-art center will be approximately 10,000 square feet and will offer amenities such as a swimming pool, computer lab, fitness center, children’s playroom, kitchen and meeting space. The Southern Plains Community Center is scheduled for completion in May 2013. Construction on Old Cavalry Post Neighborhood Office and swimming pool began in November 2012 and the Buffalo Soldier Acres Neighborhood Center in 2014.
